Building the Metric and Multistandard Catalog

Our founders believed a well-conceived, detailed catalog was the key to long-term success. Although certain products may seem mundane, a great deal of technical information is associated with their composition and installation. The Metric and Multistandard Catalog is here to provide this information accurately and concisely. Find clear and expert knowledge on thousands of metric products.

We also successfully source many items from our global suppliers that are not listed in the Metric and Multistandard catalog. Call 888-966-MMCC or contact us to learn more about your options.

The Metric and Multistandard Story

Metric and Multistandard New York

Metric’s first office was a modest 4,000 square foot building in Yonkers, NY. For the first several years, the owners were the only employees and performed all tasks from sales and purchasing to shipping and receiving. Their hands-on involvement guaranteed everything was done right, quickly, and accurately. The urgency they gave to every order—no matter how big—can still be seen today.

Expansion to New Metric and Multistandard New York Locations

We continued to grow throughout the sixties and early seventies. The Yonkers, NY office quickly became too small to accommodate the volume of orders and inventory. In 1971, we moved to a 10,000 square foot office in Elmsford, NY. After three years, that became too small, and our current headquarters were established in Hawthorne, NY. During this time of tremendous growth, it became clear that the best way to serve customers west of the Mississippi was to open full-stocking branch offices.

Supplying the United States with Quality Metric Components

Metric’s first branch was opened just outside of Chicago in 1975. Shortly after, in 1977, the second branch was opened in Dallas. During the eighties, each of Metric and Multistandard’s locations significantly increased its physical capacities either through expansion or relocation.
We continued to evolve to match growing customer demand. In 1995, we opened a full-stocking branch in Atlanta to solidify our share of the southeastern US market. In 2000, our Reno branch was added to the team, finalizing a strategy that every city in the US be reachable by regular ground service within two days.

International Metric Hardware Distributor

In 1993, Metric and Multistandard established a purchasing office in Germany to centralize our European purchasing and consolidate incoming freight shipments. Our German procurement office can source ISO, DIN, and EN items throughout Europe and receives weekly airfreights as well as regular sea shipments from our global resources into Metric’s NY headquarters. This allows us to supply many special parts with a short delivery time, providing optimal customer service even on hard-to-find items.

Looking Ahead as a Leading USA-Owned Metric Part Supplier
